Delete your dbOrbit data

dbOrbit, the mobile database app by Metronio Technologies, keeps your connections, credentials and queries on your device. There is no dbOrbit account to close. This page explains how to erase the data on your device and how to ask us to delete the small amount of data that reaches our servers.
1. Erase the data on your device
- Open dbOrbit and go to Settings → Security.
- Tap Erase all local data.
- Type the confirmation word and tap Erase everything.
This removes your connections (including passwords and SSH keys), saved queries, query history and PIN from the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. Uninstalling the app removes the remaining app settings and any local SQLite and classroom files.
2. Request deletion of data on our servers
- Email support@dborbit.io with the subject Delete my dbOrbit data, from the email address you used in the app (your recovery email, support email or GitHub email).
- Tell us which data to delete, or say "everything".
- We confirm the request from that address and complete it within 30 days.
What we delete
- Recovery email — your address and the delivery log of verification codes sent to it
- Support requests — messages you sent through Contact support, and our replies
- GitHub backup records — the GitHub username, email address, repository name and commit identifiers the app sends after each backup
- Subscription profile — the RevenueCat customer record linked to your recovery email address
What we keep
- Billing and subscription records — kept as required by tax and accounting laws (typically 7 years). Purchases themselves are processed and recorded by Google Play or the App Store.
Data deleted automatically
Analytics events and crash reports are linked to a randomly generated install identifier, not to your name or email address, so we cannot find them from an email request. They are deleted on a schedule:
- Analytics events (Mixpanel) — retained for up to 12 months, then aggregated and deleted
- Crash and performance reports (Sentry) — retained for 90 days
3. Delete your GitHub backups
Encrypted backups are stored in your own GitHub repository, not on our servers. To remove them, delete the backup repository on GitHub, and revoke dbOrbit's access under GitHub → Settings → Applications.
